I have so much to be thankful for every day, not just this Thanksgiving week.  But I wanted to take time to share some of the blessings in my life that I am thankful for.  It's so easy for people to take things for granted or complain.  But I always remind myself of all the wonderful things I have in my life that some people would give anything for.  Remember, for every breath you take, someone else may be taking their last!

Some are more serious than others and some may seem a little silly to some of you.  But some days it's the little things that make the biggest difference.

My amazing husband.  Seriously, I wonder every single day how I got so lucky.  He is the hardest working man I know.  The most caring, understanding husband.  The most loving, giving dad.  He would do anything or give anything for me or the kids.  He works hard all day and then comes home and all he wants to do is play with the kids.  He gives them his full attention from the time he walks in the door until he tucks them in at night.  He allows me to have some "me" time as he knows it's good for me.  He helps with all the house work.  He gives baths, puts the kids to bed, and then often times gets his laptop out and works some more.  I thank God every day that he brought us together 11 years ago.

My beautiful children.  I'm thankful for their health.  I'm thankful for their hilarious little personalities.  And most of all, I'm thankful I get to be their Mommy.  They make me so incredibly happy.

Our warm, beautiful home.  I'm thankful we have a roof over our heads, let alone a home that is perfect for our family.  We are slowly making it more our own and falling more in love with it.

Family.  The ones I get to see a lot and the ones I rarely get to see.  There's nothing better than the love and support of family.  We may not be perfect, but we will always have one another and if you can't count on your family, who can you count on?  I love every single one of them.

Me time.  Usually it's just a bath or long shower at night.  Or catching up on some TV in our bedroom by myself.  Sometimes it's a trip to Target.  Sometimes I would rather spend my "me" time on a date night with Tyler or shopping with my mom.  But I cherish those times so much.  I always feel so refreshed when I get home.

Online shopping.  I have done a lot of my shopping from my comfy couch this year, which is perfect since I am huge and miserable.

Sports.  I may not play them much anymore, other than sand volleyball in the summer, but sometimes just watching sports on TV can make me so happy.  I am huge fan of all Wisconsin sports and there's really not much better than Badger football Saturday's.  Or Packer Sunday's.  There's also not a lot better than getting a date night out with Tyler this Friday night to a huge Badger volleyball game.  My kind of date!  I am thankful that my mom is generous enough to come up and babysit for us!

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!  I'm looking forward to hanging out with family, eating way too much and decorating for Christmas!

*For some reason my pictures didn't show up on my last post, even though I can see them. Can someone comment and let me know if you can see them in this post?  Thanks!

Friday Facts

~We got our new bed.  But they failed to bring the other four pieces of furniture along with it.  Ugh, I was so frustrated!  We had taken our old stuff downstairs like two weeks ago when we found out they were going to deliver early.  So all our clothes that should be in a dresser are laying all over our closet.  We get to do that for another two weeks since they claim they can't bring our stuff next week.  We still have a nightstand, dresser/mirror, bench and media chest coming.  I can't wait to finally get our room finished!

I love love LOVE the paint color!
~When I got the bed all made, Kyla crawled up there and said, "Mama, your new bed is huge!  I can sleep in the middle.  You can sleep on the left.  And daddy can sleep on the right."  Going from our queen to this king has been amazing!  But not amazing enough to allow a third little person in there :)

~This cute boy is a major mama's boy.  He loves snuggling with me (must be the big, comfy belly).  About 7:00 every night he hunts me down and crawls up on me.  I love it!  But I have a bad feeling he's going to be pretty mad at me in a few months when a third little one comes in the picture and takes up mama's attention.

~Last weekend we got together with my dad's family for some Christmas bingo.  We used to do this every year when my grandma and her sister were still here with us.  It was always so much fun.  We took about 10 years off, but my cousin got it organized again and I'm so happy she did.  We all bring a dish to pass and some bingo gifts.  We just label them kid, woman, man, anyone, etc.  And as soon as you get a bingo, you go open a gift!  Kyla had a blast.  She's still talking about it!

~This girl is so funny.  She came out of her room this morning looking like this, with her notebook in her pants.

Camo pants today in honor of opening hunting weekend for Daddy!

~I ordered myself a few stocking stuffers, including this mug for my hot chocolate :)

~I'm feeling huge and in a lot of pain.  But besides the back, hips, and pelvis throbbing 24/7, heartburn, peeing 16 times a night and insanely itchy skin, I truly am enjoying every day.  I'm excited to meet our little girl, but I'm also soaking up every day as a family of 4.  I know things are going to really change.

Friday Favorites

One thing I miss when I'm not blogging is the link-ups.  It's a fun little community and I love finding new mommy blogs to read.  Today I'm linking up Erika for Friday Favorites.

1.  My all time favorites, these two cuties...

2.  Thursday mail.  My mom knows how much I love reality TV and celebrity gossip so she bought me a subscription to US Weekly for my birthday.  I get it every Thursday and as soon as Tyler's home and dinner is done, I enjoy a nice, peaceful bath while catching up with the ridiculousness that these magazines are.  But I love it!

3.  Matching pajamas.  I very rarely match Kyla and Kase, but I am a sucker for some matching jammies, especially around the holidays.  I ordered these from Gymboree and can't wait to get them (sorry, bad pictures)!

4.  Hot Chocolate.  I love curling up near the fireplace with a hot glass.  Marshmallows are a must!

5.  Online shopping!  I am getting close to being done with my Christmas shopping thanks to the ole' internet!
Have a great weekend everyone!

20 Weeks

I'll actually be 21 weeks tomorrow, but I had my 20 week ultrasound yesterday so I figured I'd do a little update.

Please excuse the blurry phone picture, bed heads, no makeup, etc :)

Total weight gain:  I'm not really sure, but I do know it's more that it should be.

Maternity Clothes?  Umm, YES and they are barely fitting!

Sleep:  Awful.  It's way too early to be this uncomfortable.  My doctor said every pregnancy gets more painful and he is right!

Best moment this week:  Seeing our sweet girl on ultrasound and having the full anatomy scan and knowing everything looks great!

Miss anything? Not being in pain all the time

Movement:  Yes, she's an active little thing!

Food cravings:  Tacos, bagels with peanut butter, milk

Anything making you queasy or sick: Cleaning nasty dishes and changing poopy diapers, neither which I can really avoid.

Labor signs:  No

Happy or Moody most of the time:  I have been pretty emotional lately.

Looking forward to:  Deciding on a name

They told us yesterday that she is measuring a week ahead (according to the ultrasound).  She said they wouldn't move the due date up, but I should be ready to go early and/or have a big baby.  They originally moved my due date back, which I didn't think was right, but we'll see.  She said they'd check her size again at 28 weeks and go from there.

And just for fun, here's me at 20 weeks with Kase!

I Mustache You Some Questions

I've always loved these surveys where you can learn silly little things about me that you probably don't care too much about.  But I love reading others and I like filling them out.  Thanks to Bri over at School in our Slippers for tagging me so I can join in on the fun!

Four names that people call me, other than my real name: (Sorry, I could only think of 3)
  • Mommy, Mama:  I don't hear "Mom" very often yet, which is fine by me because I feel like they should only do that when they're old.  And I don't want them to be old :)
  • Wilson:  My maiden name, which some of my college friends still call me.
  • Ames:  Another one from college.

Four jobs I have had:
  • Sandwich Artist:  Yep, I worked at Subway in high school.
  • Elementary School Teacher:  I subbed for a few years and taught one year of 3rd grade.
  • Customer Service Manager:  When I got tired of subbing and not working every day, I got a job at a start-up company and was promoted to customer service manager.  It was a fun company to work for and it paid much better than subbing.
  • Mom:  Yes, it is a job.  My 24/7 job that doesn't pay well (except in hugs and kisses), but is the best job in the entire world!

Four movies I’ve watched more than once:
  • Goonies
  • Love & Basketball
  • Dumb & Dumber
  • Hardball

Four books I’d recommend: (I haven't read many books lately unfortunately - other than children's books)

Four places I have lived:
  • Darlington, WI:  My hometown and where I grew up until I left for college.
  • Whitewater, WI:  Where I went to college and lived for 5 years.
  • McFarland, WI:  Where Tyler and I moved to in 2005 when he graduated college.  We had an apartment there and I commuted to college for another year.
  • Belleville, WI:  Our current home.

Four places I have been:
  • Orlando, FL:  When I was 16 I got to go with my aunt, uncle and cousin down to Disney.  Still a road trip I will never forget!  I even delayed getting my drivers license for 3 months so I could go on the trip!
  • San Diego, CA:  While playing basketball in college, our team was in a tournament there.
  • Maui, Hawaii:  For our honeymoon
  • Italy & Greece:  We went with my uncle who takes high schoolers on a trip every year.  We were technically "chaperones" but we didn't have a lot of responsibilities.  It was a pretty sweet deal!

Four places I would rather be right now:
  • Disney World:  Kyla has been asking to go to "that Disney castle" lately and I would LOVE to be able to take her.
  • IKEA:  I love this store and can't wait to go again soon!
  • The beach:  Enough said.
  • A Salon:  A pregnancy massage and pedicure sound amazing right now!

Four things I won’t eat:
  • Seafood:  Anything in the seafood family.  I just won't do it.  No thanks!
  • Pickles:  Yuck.  You wouldn't catch me dead eating a pickle, even while pregnant!
  • Black licorice:  My grandma Eunice loved black licorice and always tried to get me to eat it.  Nasty!
  • Anything with coconut in it

Four of my favorite foods:
  • Pizza
  • Turkey & dressing sandwiches (specifically the kind my mom makes)
  • McIntosh apples:  I can't get enough of them right now!
  • Sweets:  Brownies, cake, cookies, any pretty much any kind of chocolate

Four TV shows that I watch:
  • Big Brother:  An all time favorite!
  • The Bachelor/Bachelorette:  An awful show that I just can't get enough of :)
  • Law & Order SVU:  Tyler and I have watched this together for years.
  • Pretty much any reality show (Kardashians, 19 Kids & Counting, The Voice, Survivor, Biggest Loser)

Four things I am looking forward to this year:
  • December 1st:  The day our Elf on the Shelf arrives.
  • Baking Christmas cookies:  Remember my love for sweets?
  • Christmas Eve:  My family is coming to our house this year.
  • Christmas Morning:  There's just nothing better.
Four things I’m always saying:
  • "What do you say?"  Trying to get the kids to use their manners.
  • "Leave your brother alone!"  Kyla loves to bother Kase.
  • "Love you!"  You can never say it too much!
  • "Get out of the pantry!"  Kyla would eat all day long if I let her.
Four people I tag:
  • Erin @ Love, Fun and Football (One of my favorite sweet bloggers who is so real and down to earth)
  • Tammy @ Tammy Fantasy Land (I know you are a tad busy with a newborn and two toddlers, but I'd love to see your answers some day since we are basically living the same lives)
  • Shawna @ No Paparazzi Please (I know you're busy too with a full time job, full time photography business, two adorable girls, etc.  But I'm tagging you anyway)
  • Kathryn @ Double Trouble in Paradise (Another busy momma with twin girls and a new baby, but I love reading your blog when you do have time)

Cousin Sleepover

We had another busy weekend!  Tyler took a vacation day on Friday so we had an extra day with him home, which is always awesome!  He took the kids out and about and ran some errands and I decided to go get some shopping done.  I stopped at Home Depot on my way home to get some paint samples because we knew we wanted to paint our bedroom one of the these weekends.

Well, shortly after I got home, the furniture store called.  We were expecting the delivery in about 3-4 more weeks, but they said they'd be here on Wednesday.  So Tyler spent most of his weekend painting!  I am the most indecisive person ever so picking out paint colors can be pretty painful.  But I love how it turned out.  Can't wait to share pictures once the furniture is here and it's all complete!

Hard at work!
Saturday morning I met up with my brother to pick up my nieces.  We came home, put Kase down for his nap, Tyler got busy painting, and us girls went out for some girl time!

She went right to the calendar when she woke up to see if it was Saturday yet.  She was just a little excited about her cousins coming over :)
We got lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, which was really nice to be able to sit down and actually enjoy a meal.  We don't eat out very often (if ever) because Kase is a stinker at restaurants right now.  So I enjoyed this.

We went to Michael's to get some supplies for some craft projects we wanted to do.  Then I took the girls to the mall and Target so they could give me some ideas for Christmas presents.  I took pictures of the stuff so I would remember.  Can you tell they were so thrilled with all the pictures?

So much fun shopping with these three!  One man said to us, "The red hair must come from Daddy."  It made us all laugh and we told him they were cousins, not sisters.  He couldn't believe it.

As soon as we got home the girls wanted to get busy right away with our craft projects.  I let them each pick out two ornaments to paint so they did those first.

I forgot to take a picture of the girls ornaments before they left, but here are Kyla's.

The girl loves red!
Emma chose an owl and Christmas tree and Gianna chose a snowflake and house.  They were cute!

I picked up a pack of canvases and saw a cute and easy snowflake idea.  The girls were really excited about it.  First we put some tape on.

Then painted all over the canvas and tape.  We used three different color blues.  Emma and Gianna did some patterns and Kyla just mixed all three colors to make one interesting blue.

After they were dry, we peeled the tape and admired the greatness :)

Then Emma took some Mod Podge glue and painted it on the white parts with a sponge brush.  Then each of the girls got to go crazy with the glitter!

Kyla insisted last night that hers go in her bedroom on her shelf.  She's pretty proud of herself!

We were all VERY tired and I think everyone crashed around 9:30.  It was Kyla's first time sleeping out in the living room with the girls and she loved it!

Yesterday we had one more project to complete that we didn't get to on Saturday - writing our letters to Santa!

We sealed them up and off they went in the mailbox to the North Pole!

We had a couple hours to play before we had to meet my brother again to take the girls home.

Suckers are a must in the morning :)
The rest of Sunday was spent cleaning, finishing up the painting, laundry, and resting from a fun, but busy weekend!  Phew.  I need a vacation day now I think!

Halloween 2014

Kyla had been looking forward to Halloween for months.  All along she has said she wanted to be a cowgirl.  No clue where she got it from, but we went with it.  And I saw an easy ninja turtle outfit for Kase.

We went to Tyler's work with their costumes on and had lunch.  It was really cold and windy so we didn't do trick-or-treating that night.  We went to my mom's though because they get tons of kids and I knew Kyla would have fun helping pass the candy out.  Some of the kids scared her, but overall, she liked it.

How cute are they?  Even with my blurry phone pictures!

He didn't like his costume at all.  It didn't help that it was really tight on him.  The hat alone just makes me laugh though.

Seriously, does it get any cuter than this?

November Goals

I am a list maker.  It's just how I work.  I can't go even on a daily trip without making a list of everything we will need.  I hate going to the grocery store without a list.  I like to make to-do lists so I feel like I am accomplishing something.  Being home all day, trying to keep up with house work, can often feel like I don't do anything.  But when I make myself a list and cross things off as I go, it makes me feel better.

So I decided to start making myself some monthly goals too.  Here is what I came up with for November...

1.  Finish Christmas shopping.  I have a pretty good start, but I really want to finish this month so I don't have to be out in December when I'm even bigger and it's even crazier.  It seems I always have to run out the day before or a couple days before Christmas each year.  Hopefully not this year!

2.  Walk more.  Since I have been so sick and miserable, I have not been exercising at all.  We have a treadmill downstairs so I really want to start walking since I have more energy.  Not only is it good for me physically, but it is some "me" time, which is good for my sanity.  I'm sure the kids will be at the top of the stairs banging on the gate wanting Mama, but with the TV and the treadmill on, I probably won't hear it.  Daddy will enjoy it, I'm sure!

3.  Write new recipes down.  Even though I wish I did it even more, I like to find new recipes to try.  I always set the iPad on the counter, do the cooking/baking, and then usually forget where I got the recipe from.  I want to go through and write down all the recipes, even ones that I have gotten from family members, down in my little recipe box.  I just prefer to have them on paper versus on the computer.

4.  Paint bedroom.  I mentioned this in yesterday's post.  We ordered a new bedroom set and new comforter set so new paint is in order.  The new furniture will be here in about 4 weeks so it will force us to get the painting done before it arrives.

5.  Do more "school" with both kids.  I put school in quotes because Kyla LOVES it and that's just what we call it.  But I don't make them do anything.  I give them activities and if they choose to do them, great.  If they'd rather do something else, fine.  But Kyla would do school all day if I could keep up with that.  Kase doesn't like to sit for too long.  He does like to color.  But I can't get him to sit down with me to read books very often.  We get about two pages in and he's off driving his tractors around the house.  I just want to do better about getting things out for them to choose to do if they want.

Kyla doing some letter hunt pages.  I got 3 pages out and she cruised through them and then said, "Mommy I want to do letter D, then letter E, then letter F..."
Alright, I think that's a good list for November.  I'll check back in at the end of the month to see how I did and make a new list for December!
