Life Lately

You'd think since I haven't blogged in over a week that I would have something cool to write about.  I didn't really do it intentionally, but I have not opened the laptop much at all other than here or there for some Thirty-One business.  I just haven't had the time or the interest to blog.  I am way behind on reading all of yours too!  I think this might be pretty common this summer though so I apologize in advance.

We haven't been doing anything too exciting, but I have just been loving spending time with the kids.  Kyla is at such a fun age and she makes me laugh all day.  We have already crossed a few things off our summer bucket list!  Here is a little recap of our life lately, with no pictures because I haven't taken many and I'm lazy today :)

We've been going on lots of walks and taking lots of trips to the park.

Tyler and I went to the Brewer game Friday night while his mom and brother watched the kids.  Although the game stunk, we had fun.  And we met up with one of my friends from college (and her hubby) that I haven't seen forever so that was really nice.

Saturday morning I got my hair highlighted.  I am kind of obsessed with it.

Saturday afternoon we celebrated my niece's 5th birthday with a Doc McStuffins party.

Sunday we did yard work and just played outside all day.

We found out Kyla is deathly afraid of bees.  I guess it doesn't help that I scream when I see one.  She was so scared though and we found a few nests in the front yard already.  Ugh!

I also found out she's afraid of having her window down in the backseat.  And of me blowing bubbles with my bubble gum.  My little scaredy cat :)

I painted Kyla's toenails for the first time.

I didn't officially get my 30 miles in 30 days because I wanted to do it all on the treadmill.  With all our walks though, I know I did get plenty of miles in.

I went to Target last Wednesday night after the kids went to bed.  I spent almost two hours in there and loved every second of it.

Tyler's brothers and their fiances are coming over on Saturday and I cannot wait!  The girls are going to the spa and the guys are staying home and changing diapers.  And then we're gonna grill out for dinner and just hang out.  I'm excited to hear all about the wedding plans and just have some much needed girl time.

Kase has four teeth coming in on the top and I swear they are adult teeth.  They look so big!

I let Kyla watch Dora for the first time last week and as you can imagine, she's now obsessed.  I mean what two year old girl isn't, right?

We were going to switch her over to a twin bed this past weekend.  Our plan was to take the truck to Gianna's party so we could bring the bed home from my parents house.  Well, we completely forgot and took the van.  Hopefully we can get it this week or this weekend.  I'm excited to see how she likes her new bed.

This morning we had to run some errands and when we got home, I realized both kids were sound asleep.  So I drove around and looked at houses for sale for almost an hour.  Let's hope they still go down for naps soon!

That's about all the excitement around here.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

  2. haha...once again, I basically posted the same thing minutes ago before reading your post lol. I think it's just hard to blog regularly when it's nice out and there is so much to do!

Watch out---the black hole of Dora will suck you in!!! Although both girls are getting pretty good with their Spanish speaking lol ;-)

  3. I missed you! I need your colorist bc mine royally ticked me off last week. Welcome to the land of Dora & Boots & Swiper & Tico and all that it entails. We have it on Netflix, so when it's not on TV, we can watch the same episodes over and over and over and over. Gah! Sounds like the Brewer's game was fun, I'm dying to get to a Reds game!
