Easter Weekend Recap

Warning - Major picture overload coming!  I know I'm late getting this recap up, but it's important for me to do it because these are the memories that I can't wait to look back on some day.  Sorry if you're friends with me on Facebook and saw them all already!

Saturday we drove up to see Tyler's family.  It's a three hour drive so we left right away in the morning.  We got to his grandparents around noon and Kase was one hungry boy!  Both kids did very well with the ride.  We fed Kase and then his grandparents insisted on taking us out to lunch.  I have to admit, I was very concerned about taking the kids to the restaurant, but you don't argue with a 95 and 92 year old!

Kase slept in his car seat the whole time and Kyla was busy taking each creamer and butter out of the bowls and then putting them back in.  Other than being a little antsy in her chair and almost falling a few times, she did awesome!  She showed her great grandpa how to use her iPad.  He was pretty fascinated with it!

It was so great to see them!  They absolutely adore the kids and it's so nice to see them play with them.  I wish we could get up there more often!

Then we headed to Tyler's mom's and also got to see his dad after he was done with work.  Grandma Cheryl had some Easter eggs hidden for Kyla and also a basket for each of the kids.  But of course the first thing Kyla noticed were the M&M's.

Then it was time to look for her eggs and basket!

Kase got some new toys to slobber on, which he was pretty happy about!

We got home around 9:30 and put the kids to bed.  Overall, they did well in the van considering we did over six hours in one day.  We pulled out the portable DVD player that my aunt and uncle gave us for the first time and it was a lifesaver!

Easter morning Kyla woke up and couldn't wait to see what the Easter bunny brought her!

Kase just wanted to eat everything in his basket.

A brush just like Mama's!
Hmm, what are these?  Big girl undies!  She has been wanting to wear them the last couple days so maybe this will be the start of potty training?  I'm not forcing it at all though.
Kase hanging out with Daddy

I just had to share this picture because it's hilarious.  She didn't want to take her new shoes (which are too big) or new Brewer hat off.  Rough life, right?
We got ready and headed to Grandma & Grandpa's for lunch and an Easter egg hunt!

Kase loves his great aunt Sharon!

And his cousins who love to play with him!

He loves to be pushed around in his walker.  Emma is such a great cousin!
It was finally time for the girls to head outside for their egg hunt.  We didn't think we were going to be able to have one since it was still so cold, but Grandma and Grandpa braved the cold and hid 25 eggs for each girl!

Kyla's Godmother, Kirsten, helping her look for eggs.

I hope this is the ONLY Easter we have snow on the ground (of course Kyla wanted to walk through the snow instead of the grass).

We were all freezing so we went inside to count and figure out how many were still out there.  The girls found all but six so we sent Uncle Matt out to look for more.

Kirsten and Kase - she had her pair perfectly by his ears at one time that it actually looked like it was his hair.  It was hilarious.
Grandpa and his girl checking to see what she got in her eggs.

Some day we will get her to smile with great grandma Barb.  She has a nervous habit of picking at her lip.

Kase will take a picture with anyone - for now :)

It was such a great weekend with our wonderful families!  It was so much fun to watch Kyla actually look for the eggs this year and be excited about her basket.  My baby is growing up so fast!
