Cousins Sleepover

Tyler and I love spending time with our nieces.  They have always been very special to us.  So once in awhile we have them over for a sleepover.  They are so great with Kyla and she adores them (that is an understatement).  She could be in the worst mood ever (which she was on Saturday) until she sees them.  Her face just lights up.

Emma had a basketball game Saturday afternoon so we went to that and then brought her and Gianna home with us.  We had dinner, ice cream and then got right to work on the fort that they have been talking to "Uncle" about.  We are "Auntie" and "Uncle" to them.

Tyler's brother Trevor and his fiancé Jackie came over for the night too.  Although they technically aren't Emma and Gianna's aunt and uncle, they definitely have a relationship like they are.  They love them!
When I was deciding on a new vehicle last year, this is what I envisioned with a van.  Perfection.

Kase loves hanging out with Emma!

The kitchen was a big hit, especially with Gianna.  Tyler ran to the store for ice cream and she made us smoothies, toast, coffee, tea, hot dogs.  You name it, that girl can cook it!

Mmm, tea party with toast
I think this is right before Kase threw up on her.  She's got the mama instinct already though...she caught most of it with her hand :)

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream (literally)!

And this, is what Emma calls, the ice cream dance!

Taking self portraits while the boys work on the fort.

Kyla was busy with her clock puzzle.

Snatched her for one quick picture with the girls.

You know you're serious fort builders when you bring out the 2x4's!

Some old school Nintendo as a reward for building such a sweet fort.

It was Kyla's bedtime, but she wanted to sleep with the girls.

Look at those guns!
Within the first two minutes of being up yesterday morning, she was back at it, making breakfast for everyone.

Kyla woke up crying and was upset as I brought her out to the living room and then saw Emma and Gianna.  It was like a light switch.  She was laughing and couldn't stop hugging them.

"Hey, where are you guys?"  Their password to get in was "French toast" :)

They made some awesome crowns!

Kyla wasn't thrilled about wearing hers.

What a great time!  I love that Kyla and Kase are so close with their cousins and we're able to do these types of things.

  1. Sounds like a fun weekend--awesome fort! :-)

  2. How fun! That fort is the best! We miss having Tatum nearby to come over for sleepovers. :(
