Mama Talk

The moment Tyler walks in the door most nights, I am talking his ear off.  I think he would probably just like 5 minutes to relax after a busy day of work.  But I just need to have a normal conversation.  And have someone respond to me NOT in jibberish.  Here are just some of the things I said yesterday.

"Be nice to your brother."

"Kyla, did you poop?"

"We don't throw toys."

"Throw the ball to Mama."

"Don't pick your nose!"

"Please keep your lunch on your plate."

"Stinky feet!" (after Kyla puts her feet in my face while changing her diaper)

"You can't sit on my lap while I go potty, honey."

"No, that's a goat, not a puppy."

"I'm sorry, you have to walk.  I need to carry your brother."

"Shhhh, baby is sleeping."

"We don't eat the crayons."

"Keep your feet off the iPad."

"Where's Kyla's foot?" (while putting her pants on, one leg at a time).  "There it is!"  (as she laughs hysterically every single time)

"Can you say please?"

"Your big sister is being naughty."

"We do not stick our fingers in Kase's mouth."

Tyler and my step dad always joke about how often I talk to my mom on the phone.  Sometimes I just need a 5 minute normal conversation before I sing the ABC's again or tickle Kase while he laughs and squeals.  I often will say "I have to go potty" to adults.  With no kids around.  And I get made fun of, with good reason I suppose.  This, my friends, is my life.

  4. Amy, I am exactly the same as you...when my hubby walks in the door from work I start chattering non-stop. I bet he would also appreciate just a few minutes of silence...but I'll be honest, it's not gonna happen. I'm too anxious to have a conversation with someone who will respond to me in something other than a grunt!

  6. Ah, too funny! I know this all too well. When we went to my Husband's work Christmas party, I excused myself to the restroom. When I returned, some of our friends had left and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I burst out "But I just had to run potty quick, I wasn't even gone long!!" Everyone laughed at me and it took me a second to realize what I'd said...
