20 Things About 2012

I know I already did a 2012 recap post, but I saw this on Mandy's blog and thought it would be fun.  And most of the questions are things that I didn't include on my other recap.  Except for this little guy.

He made both posts.  He was a pretty big part of 2012!  And he's cute :)

1. What did you do in 2012 that you've never done before?
Gave birth to a baby boy!  Went to the Rose Bowl.

2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions and did you make any for this year?
I don't really do resolutions, but I will be posting more about that soon.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My best friend from college did just over a month ago.  She lives in Ohio so I haven't got to meet little miss Taylor yet, but hopefully soon!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
My uncle passed away exactly one year ago today on Kyla's birthday.

5. What places did you visit?
Well, we were just in California for the Rose Bowl.  Other than that, nothing too exciting.  Zoo.  Children's museum.  Up north to visit Tyler's family.

6. What would you like to do in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
Go to a waterpark.  More trips to the zoo.  Just get out and do more things.  It will be much easier this summer since I won't be pregnant.

7. Which dates from 2012 will be etched in your memory and why?
August 24, 2012 - Kase's birthday

8. What was your biggest achievement this year?
Carrying and giving birth to my handsome little boy

9. Did you suffer any illness or  injury?
I got the flu really bad at the end of January and had to go get an IV since I was pregnant.  And then had my gallbladder surgery 3 weeks after having Kase.

10. What was the best thing you bought?
Definitely my van.  LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

11. Where did most of your money go?
Van, stuff for the kids and all the other monthly bills

12. What song will always remind you of 2012?
Call Me Maybe and Gangnam Style

13. What do you wish you would have done more of?
More one on one stuff with Kyla and taken her outside more during the summer months.  I will make up for it this summer though!

14. What do you wish you would have done less of?
Throwing up and being sick from the pregnancy

15. What was your favorite TV program?
Big Brother, although there are many others that I love.

16. What was the best book you read this year?
Since I didn't read any of my own books, it would have to be one of Kyla's.  I'm sick of Goodnight Moon.  I love Brown Bear, Brown Bear and all our Dr. Seuss books.

17. What was your favorite film of the year?
"Film?"  Who calls them films?  Anyway, I actually didn't watch many movies.  I do remember renting one, but don't remember the name.  The one where Reese Witherspoon had to choose between the two guys that actually knew each other?  That is the only one I can remember watching and it was ok, haha.

18. What did you do on your birthday and how old did you turn?
I turned 30 and had some family over for a little Badger party a couple days before and didn't do much on the actual day.  Spent it with my favorite people :)

19. What world event stirred you the most?
The school shooting at Sandy Hook.  It absolutely broke my heart thinking about those innocent children.

20. Who was the best new person you met?
My son of course :)

Ok, sorry.  That ended up being pretty boring since everything was about being pregnant or having a baby.  Not that that isn't exciting and amazing, but I'm hoping to have much more to post about at this time next year!

Like I said, today is Kyla's 2nd birthday so we are going to be busy celebrating!  I plan on taking the kids to the mall so Kyla can play and then we'll meet Tyler for lunch.  Then we'll come home for naps and then meet Tyler at work at 5:00.  There is a place near his work that sells playground equipment, trampolines, bouncy things, etc. and they let you come in and play on all of the models.  We've never been there, but it looks like a lot of fun.  It's free for 2 and under, otherwise $7 for your kid to play.  Parents are free.  We may be returning again this winter if Kyla likes it.  Then we plan on going out for dinner, but will kind of depend on how the kids are doing.  We may just come home and eat.  I made a red velvet cake for the big day too!  I will share all kinds of pictures later and Kyla's official 2 year post next week after her checkup.

Happy birthday Kyla!
