Life Update

I figured I was due for a completely random list of life updates.  Enjoy!

Look how long Kyla's hair is getting?

She likes to help me play Words with Friends.
I took the kids to the mall on Wednesday.  It's too cold here in WI now to go outside and we really just needed to get out of the house.  So we checked out Santa and waved to him.  I didn't have the kids sit on his lap because a) Kase was sleeping in the stroller and b) Kyla was being such a good girl.  I didn't want to ruin both of those things.  We all know how Kyla would do on his lap.  So I let her run around and play in the mall playground area for awhile.  She loved it, got some energy out, played with other kids and got some exercise.  Tyler got to meet up with us in the food court for lunch, which was unexpected, but so nice!  Kyla was so excited to see him.  And more excited to eat his roast beef sandwich!  I think this might have to be a regular occurrence for us this winter (maybe not Arby's every time though) :)

Tyler and I kept commenting on how our little girl is growing up so fast.  She sat there like such a big girl eating and talking to us.  It was a lot of fun, but crazy how she was acting so grown up!

The kids were wearing their new naughty and nice shirts that Shawna made for me.  As soon as I saw the idea, I knew it was too perfect.  I know some people think it's just awful that I would put Kyla in a shirt that says "Naughty".  Relax people.  It's cute.  And funny.  And a little bit true, haha.  If you know my kids, you know that it is just funny.  I don't think she's going to be scarred for life because I put this shirt on her when she was 23 months old.

The "Naughty" one wouldn't sit still for a picture and the "Nice" just sat so perfectly for Mama ;)
Kyla did great at swim lessons again on Wednesday.  She even let the male instructor help her float!  I am so proud of her.  She is one of the older kids in her class since it is for 6 months to 2 years, but Tyler said she can do so much more than most of the other kids.  But the best part is that she loves it!  He said she may choose swimming over volleyball some day.  I doubt that, but if she does, I will still cheer her on every single day.  I just won't know how to help her because I am a horrible swimmer!

I'm not sending Christmas cards out this year.  I don't have any pictures that I love and want to share with everyone.  And I just don't want to spend the money on them.  Basically everyone I would send one too is on Facebook so I will make sure to wish them all a merry Christmas and happy New Year on there.  Call me a Scrooge.  It's ok.

Kyla likes to sit in the bumbo, but sometimes gets stuck, haha.

Oh, how could I forget the most exciting news EVER?  No, I'm not pregnant, haha.  Tyler and I are going to California for the Rose Bowl!!!!  (I know, I hate using more than one exclamation point, but this calls for at least 4)!  As you have probably figured out, we are huge Badger fans.  Tyler joked last week about us going and I kind of just blew it off.  But today when Barry announced he'd be coaching the team (sorry if you have no idea what I'm talking about), I got really excited.  I messaged him at work and told him we should go.  And he agreed!  Two plane tickets, hotel and game tickets later, WE'RE GOING TO THE ROSE BOWL BABY!  I have not been this excited since, well, probably since Kase was born :)  So you're probably wondering what we're doing with the kids, right?  My mom is being awesome and watching them the whole time we'll be gone.  We leave December 31st and come home the 2nd.  So we'll be gone two nights.  I'm nervous because I will miss my babies SO much.  But I know that Tyler and I need this.  We never do date nights.  It is going to be so much fun.  We'll get to Los Angeles around 9:30pm on New Year's Eve so we will actually get to do something for New Year's.  I don't remember the last time we did that!  And hopefully the Badgers will get a win!  If you couldn't already tell, I am so fricken excited!

We will be here in less than a month!  Only we'll be on the 50 yard line :)

Have an awesome weekend everyone!

  6. I'm so excited for you and Tyler to be able to go to the Rose Bowl! You so deserve it Amy. You are such a great mother to those two grandchildren of mine. No need to worry about them, they will be in great hands with grandma and grandpa. This will be just a warm up for you when you have to be away from them when you and I go to Vegas!! Haha I only wish, but maybe!

  9. Blog hopping this morning and found/following you via Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
I LOVE the "naughty" and "nice" shirts! When my little man (eventually) has a little brother or sister I will most certainly be doing something along those lines.
As a swim instruction it's awesome that Kyla is back floating. One of the most important fundamentals of swimming (if you're on your back you can breathe)!
YAY for the Rose Bowl. We live in LA and Pasadena is just a quick drive for us. The stadium is awesome, you'll love it!
Would love for you to swing by http://d-and-s-macke.blogspot.com and follow back.

  11. YEAH for going on a little football trip, especially the Rose Bowl! All I can say is the Badgers smoked the Hawkeyes football season (I'm an Iowa Hawkeye and it has not been a pretty season)! Glad to hear things are going well!
