Kyla's First Swim Lesson

I've been wanting to get Kyla enrolled in something to get her out of the house and have a little special time with me or Tyler.  I still want to get her into a little tumbling class, but we started out with swimming lessons.  Last night was her first night and she LOVED it!  Well, when she finally got in the water that is.  We got there a little early so she had to hang out in the bleachers for about 10 minutes.  There was a swim team practicing in the pool so she had fun watching them swim.  She was squealing, laughing and pointing in the pool asking "What is that?"

I apologize for the awful pictures.  They are with my phone (because Kyla STILL hasn't told me where she hid my camera) and she was moving around so much so they're blurry.

Starting to get impatient!  She wanted in that water NOW!
The teacher talked for what was probably about 5 minutes, but seemed like 25.  Kyla was not having it.  Tyler was basically wrestling with her.  I was a little embarrassed, but then I looked around and basically every other kid was squirming too.

It's a 30 minute lesson and they sang songs, bobbed up and down, floated and learned how to kick their feet.  But Tyler said she had a smile on her face the whole time.  Well, except for when the scary man came over to talk to her.  I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but she's scared of all men except for Daddy.  Grandpa's, uncles, doesn't matter.  They're all scary.  Let's hope it stays that for another 30 years or so :)

The last 5-10 minutes they got to play.  They had a slide to go down into the water, which she loved.  I didn't get any pictures of that because I had to help her out of the water and onto the slide.  There are some kids that didn't have both parents there so I was the designated mom to help the other kids out of the pool and onto the slide so their parents could catch them.

It was so great seeing her have so much fun.  Next week I'll be taking her myself because Tyler has a meeting.  Although I am dreading squeezing myself into a swim suit, I'm excited to swim with her.

Oh, and don't worry, we didn't leave Kase at home.  He hung out in his car seat and was awesome.  No surprise there!

And he wanted to say hi today...
