Halloween 2012

Our Halloween didn't go exactly as planned, but it was still a good day.  I decided to be brave and take the kids to toddler time for the little Halloween festivities.  We haven't gone since I've had Kase.  I was nervous about taking them, but I knew I wouldn't know how hard it was until I tried.

I got the kids dressed up and tried to get a quick picture of them together.  You all know how well that works!
At least someone likes the camera :)
I hauled both kids, a big bag, the Bjorn, and Kyla's wings up to the school.  We were only 20 minutes late.  But actually you really can come whenever you want.  We got there just at the end of circle time where they sing a song to say hello to everyone.

They go around and sing to each kid and then the kid is supposed to say hello and today they told everyone what they were dressed up as.  Here is Kyla loving the attention.  She got up off my lap when they started singing her name and looked around at everyone smiling.

And then it was time to play!  I swear the other mom's were probably thinking I haven't had her out of the house in months.  She was running around like a crazy woman.  She would run across the gym laughing, stop and look at me, and then run back to me as fast as she could, squealing the entire time.  The other mom's were getting a kick out of watching her.

Here's a quick video to give you an idea of how much fun she was having.  You can tell at one point she is just so excited she doesn't even know what to do with herself!

That went on for a LONG time!  Needless to say, she took a good nap when we got home :)

This little girl is Cora.  She loved playing ball with Kyla.

Here are all the kids lining up getting ready to go trick or treating.  The little Minnie by Kyla is Greta, who is a couple months younger.  Her mom and I are going to start doing play dates soon.  And see the older girl on the far right?  She came over to me and Kase (he was in his car seat) and asked if he liked lullabies.  She sang him hush little baby.  It was the sweetest thing!

All the mom's spread out in the gym and the kids went around trick or treating to each one.  Kyla and I handed out our treats first and then I took her around.  She wasn't sure of what to do at first, but she quickly caught on and got lots of goodies.

She found a yellow ball along the way that she wanted to add to her stash.

A pencil!

The lullabies put Kase right back to sleep!

I am SO glad we went.  Kyla had a blast and it was so much fun watching her run around and play with the other kids.  She is now running around the house peeking around the corner and screaming "BOO!"  I feel better about taking her to toddler time now even though it was a little bit of a challenge getting us all there.

I decided I wasn't going to take her out trick or treating that night.  She got plenty of treats and we didn't have to go out in the cold.

I went to boot camp since I was supposed to go last night, but Tyler had a meeting.  He was going to hand out candy, but said it was just too hard with both kids.  So now look what we have sitting around our house...

We need to get rid of it ASAP!  I just don't have willpower when it comes to chocolate.  Or Starbursts.  Or Skittles.  Tyler took the other half to work and this is going to my brother for his office.

Overall Halloween 2012 was a success!  Next year we will have two little ones running around squealing in excitement!

  3. What a fun Halloween for you guys! I can't believe how big Kase looks sitting up next to his sister. :)

Isn't it a challenge getting out the door? I don't know how, but we JUST make it each day Willow has to be at preschool.
