Life Lately

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days.  I have been busy and the free time I did have, I just didn't feel like blogging.  I usually love sitting and writing, but I guess I needed a couple days off.  Everyone else is sleeping (Kase in my arms, Daddy on the couch and Kyla in bed) so I figured now is as good of a time as any to give you an extremely long update on what's been going on with us.

My mom and Gianna came over on Monday to visit.  It was so much fun to see Kyla and Gianna play together.  Of course Kyla wanted to do everything her cousin was doing!  And Gianna is so nice, she just lets her have whatever she wants and doesn't say a word.  I told Gianna she needs to make sure Kyla is sharing, but she's too sweet to say anything.

Snack time!
Gianna loves to hold her baby cousin :)
As you all know, Wednesday was my birthday.  We didn't do anything too exciting, but I had a great day!  My mom came up for the day and we did a little shopping.  I got outfits for both kids for our family pictures and a few other things.  Our pictures were supposed to be today, but I rescheduled for the 21st, for a couple of reasons.  Mostly because I don't have much that fits me and I haven't had a chance to go shopping for myself.  My mom bought me beautiful flowers for my birthday and some boots I've had my eye on forever.

Thursday night I got my hair cut and highlighted.  I got quite a bit cut off, but it grows so fast!  And it's hard to see the highlights in the picture, but I love it!  We went with darker highlights for the fall.

Friday night I had a Thirty-One party, which was a lot of fun.  One of the main reasons I signed up for Thirty-One was to be able to get out of the house once in awhile.  And Friday night was a much needed couple hours away!

Saturday I met my mom for a little shopping.  I got some window stickers for Kyla to hang up.  She had so much fun with them!  I love how a pack of stickers that cost $1 can be so exciting for her.  She loves to take them off and put them back on.

Had to get the Minnie and Mickey suncatcher too :)
Today we took Kyla to the pumpkin patch.  It was a blast!  I have many more pictures to share later, but here's a sneak peek.

Some other random things going on...

I signed Kyla up for swim lessons that start November 7th.  I've been wanting to find something for just her to do each week.  I found a tumbling/gymnastics class that I think she'd love, but it was really expensive.  I may look around and see if I can find something like that for the spring.  The swim lessons were cheap and it'll get her out of the house doing something fun this fall.

Chicken, stuffing and corn - her favorite!
Kyla has so many cute, new outfits that she's been wearing.  She'll probably have a new outfit every day for the next two weeks, haha.  And of course I have to take a picture of each one.

I actually got this one last spring, but it just now fits her.
She has some adorable Halloween shirts too.  Now that it's October, I think Halloween shirts are fair game :)
Mommy is BOOtiful!
We have had quite the sippy cup/straw cup battle.  I'll save the details for another post, but I finally found a good straw cup!  If anyone's curious, the Playtex ones are horrible.  This one is Tommee and it's wonderful!

I downloaded some apps on my new phone for Kyla.  There is a matching game that she absolutely loves.  More on that in my Tot School post coming soon :)  She also loves to crawl up on our laps.  Regardless of if we are busy or oh, I don't know, holding her baby brother!

This is what happens when Daddy dresses Kyla while I'm sleeping...

He said she needed a bath anyway so he just threw this on :)

Kase has started smiling and laughing.  He usually will only laugh for Tyler, but it's the cutest damn thing.

Kyla will be 21 months on Tuesday, but I think has officially hit the terrible two's.  She has been so naughty this week.  Throwing toys (that once hit her brother in the head), unrolling the toilet paper after me telling her several times to stop, throwing the remote in the bathtub while I was giving Kase a bath (because he had just exploded all the way up his back).  Oh, the joys of motherhood!  Needless to say, Kyla has had several timeouts this week.  Actually more timeouts than every other week combined I think.  She got a hold of Tyler's chocolate milk this morning and dumped it all over the couch.  She is definitely jealous that she's  not getting all of the attention.  But she's still my little angel and I can't get enough of her!

Yes, that is a pen she is not supposed to have :)
If you haven't already, make sure to enter my giveaway that ends tomorrow.  Go here to enter.

If you made it through this completely random post, you rock!  My little girl is up from her nap and I need to get her before she wakes up the boys :)

Hope you're all having an awesome weekend!
