34 weeks

At this point, I really cannot imagine going 6 more weeks.  In the middle of the night on Sunday I started having contractions.  Painful ones.  Thankfully I only had 4 and they were anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes apart.  I was almost to the point of calling the hospital, but they went away.  I had a doctor appointment yesterday morning and had two more contractions on my drive there.  They put me on the monitors for about 15 minutes to make sure I wasn't contracting anymore and to check on the baby.  His heart rate was 149 and he's doing great.  They sent me home with instructions to really take it easy because it's too early to be having this baby.  They said if I have 4 or more contractions in an hour, I need to call them right away.

Other than the contractions, I am just in a lot of pain.  I feel so much pressure and I feel like my belly weighs so much that it's putting so much pressure on my lower back.  I have pulled out my belly band that I got when I was pregnant with Kyla and hopefully that will help.

How far along? 34 weeks

Total weight gain:  30 pounds exactly

Sleep:  Awful, but what's new

Best moment this week:  Getting his bedroom finished up and organized.  It's officially ready for a baby!

Miss anything? I know I say it all the time, but just not being in so much pain.

Movement:  Yes, still very active and his feet are very busy kicking my ribs on the right side.

Food cravings: My mom's zucchini bread and I'm really mad that we're all out because I want some tonight!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really

Labor signs:  Yes

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Stressed and emotional

Looking forward to:  Making it to my next appointment in two weeks, which will be 36 weeks and considered full term.

I had a dentist appointment yesterday and the receptionist said "Oh, you must be due any day now".  She was shocked when I told her I had six weeks left.  But now that everyone is saying that and I'm contracting, I feel like I'll probably go late now.  With Kyla, I thought I would be late and went 9 days early.  Either way, this week we are getting final preparations done just in case it happens any day now.  Hospital bags are getting packed, car seat in the van, and little projects getting done around the house.

  1. How exciting that you have the baby room all done and ready to go! And, although I hope you don't go yet, it will be nice to have all those other jobs done just in case.

  2. Ugh, I can feel your pain! I sort of love posts like this though because it's really how I felt when pregnant, and sometimes reading other people's posts about how they are working out and blissfully living their normal lives at 39 weeks preggo or something makes me want to strangle them :-P

I will be sending your shirts soon! This stupid hand/foot/mouth stuff siderailed me---I had one shirt done before the girls got sick and just have to make the other! :-)

  5. Wow! Six weeks before due date and nursery finished. I am impressed and will have to inspire to be more like you when we have our next baby! Hopefully by that point I will finally be done with the nursery for the baby I already have.
Hope that you will be a little more comfortable as you reach the finish line if possible!
