Monday Ramblings

1.  I finally ordered a crib!  I wasn't finding the one we wanted at Target and Babies R Us was pretty expensive so I decided to look on Walmart's website and had really good luck.  It will be here next week.  I can't wait!

2.  After a scare on Saturday night, I realized I needed to buy the crib and still pre-register at the hospital.  I got both things done last night!

3.  I plan on buying a treadmill in October so I have something to do over the winter to try to lose the baby weight.  I realize I won't have tons of time with two little ones, but I'm going to put it downstairs so I can watch my shows while I walk/run while the kids are sleeping.  That's my plan anyway!  And I'm sure glad I have this blog so I keep myself accountable for losing the weight!

4.  Motherhood Maternity, you suck!  Can I rant to you all for a minute?  Awhile back I bought two pairs of maternity shorts for this summer.  Well now that it's hot enough out, I went to put a pair on and of course, they were too tight.  I did try them on in the store and they fit fine.  So I took them back to Motherhood yesterday and asked if I could just exchange them.  But since it had been more than 30 days, she said I was out of luck.  Nothing she could do.  I saw the same exact shorts on the rack.  All she had to do was scan mine in as a return and scan the new size out for an exchange and you have correct inventory AND a happy customer.  But nope!  So I'm out $50 and have two pairs of maternity shorts that I will probably never wear.  Not only am I pissed about that, but the lady was so rude!  I realize they have to have a return policy, but you'd think they'd be a little more lenient about it when dealing with pregnant women.  How was I supposed to know my ass was going to get this big?  And the shorts still had the fricken tags on them!!!  And she looked up on the computer and told me the exact day I bought them.  But yet, she could do nothing for me.  You can bet your money that I sent an email to Motherhood today.  I don't expect anything in return, but it sure felt good to complain.  I was a Customer Service Manager before being a SAHM so I don't need anyone to tell me how this all works.  I know damn well there's something they could have done to help me.  Ok, rant over.

5.  While my mother-in-law was here this weekend, I mentioned how I want to get 25 Christmas books for next Christmas for the kids to open up each night in December.  She texted me today and said she got 12 Christmas books for me at half price!  Score!

6.  It's official, we have decided on a name!  We actually decided a few weeks ago, but I was still afraid I might change my mind.  But now I ordered a personalized onesie for him from Shawna so it's official!  Sorry though, we're not sharing it :)

7.  As much as I sometimes dread Monday's, I can't help but be SO excited for The Bachelorette!

8.  I don't think my favorite post office guy is going to be so nice to me anymore.  My little naughty girl knocked over a huge display and it all fell back behind their counter.  I was horrified.  I was watching him as he was generously showing me which envelopes would be the cheapest for me and obviously not paying enough attention to the little stinker!

9.  I have a confession to make - I drove to Madison today (20-25 minutes) just for a slushie from PDQ.  It was so worth it!

10.  Kyla was 17 months on Saturday.  Hopefully a post will be coming soon with the monthly updates!

11.  Tyler's brother, Trevor, and his girlfriend came over last night.  Kyla was a little scared of Trevor at first, but then was reading books and playing ball with him!

You look pretty good in that little pink chair, Uncle Trev :)

12.  I think I'm going to be wearing Tyler's clothes the rest of the summer.  Or maybe I'll just wear my nighty and never leave the house.  This is a maternity shirt and maternity capris and I am about to bust out of them :(

  3. Not fair shawna!!!
That does suck about motherhood. I don't understand why people have to be so rude about retiring stuff. I've been living in yoga pants & tanks so far cause its comfy & yoga pants stretch. I can't wait to pick names for our little one. Happy 17 months kyla

  4. So not fair that Shawna knows, and nobody else does! Hey Shawna, what can we do to bribe you to tell us?! :)

You look fabulous! But I totally understand about wanting to wear hubby's comfy clothes. I remember feeling so constricted in my maternity pants & shirts, even though they were...maternity. We won't judge you if you decide to wear your nighty daily either. It's all about comfort at this point!

  5. Amy, I am so glad you sent something onto Motherhood! That is ridiculous!! We just experienced VERY bad customer service last week at CVS, and you can bet that Joe went in the next day and talked to the manager!

Okay, I am so glad to hear you are busting out of your maternity clothes too! I walked out tonight with my largest t-shirt and Joe commented how it's not fitting. Plus, my behind is as big as my belly! This is bad!! I am getting way bigger this time than the last two times!!
