I guess boy stuff can be cute too

Not quite *as* cute as girl stuff, but still cute.  I've been enjoying shopping for our little guy so I thought I'd give you all a peek into his wardrobe.  The nursery is still a work in progress.  I will share pictures of that later.

Daddy's sidekick
Mommy's big guy
This is the only newborn outfit I have.  It was on the clearance rack at Target and too cute to pass up.

Of course we need a Little Brother sleeper :)

He's not hurting for clothes, that's for sure.  There is more up on the top shelf with pants, socks, etc.  It's funny, when we were buying stuff for Kyla, we talked about getting neutral colored stuff in case we had a boy some day.  Well, we loved all the girly stuff too much (we did get a neutral car seat/stroller combo and high chair).  So now we have quite a bit to buy.  Except this little guy is going to have to sleep in a pink pack & play when we travel because we're not buying another one.  He'll get over it :)

We looked at cribs today, but decided to order it online.  The one we liked didn't come in white in the store and that's what we want.  Some people have suggested moving Kyla to a big girl bed or having the baby sleep in the pack & play for a few months and then switch Kyla to a bed and give the baby the crib.  Kyla is such a great sleeper that we don't want to mess with it.  She's going to be in for a lot of changes as it is, so I don't want to change her sleep habits too.  Why mess with such a great thing?  Plus, we strongly believe in having the baby sleep in the crib from day one.  We did that with Kyla and are so happy we did.  So anyway, we're buying another crib.  We are moving the changing table out of Kyla's room into his room.  It won't match the crib, which actually kinda stresses me out, haha, but I will get over it.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could see the future and see how big he is going to be?  I only have one newborn outfit and no 0-3 months.  The 3 month outfits I got today look tiny so he could be in those right away.  Or he could be early and tiny and need newborn stuff.  Kyla was 7 pounds 11 ounces when she was born (she was 9 days early) and was in 0-3 stuff for a couple weeks only and I think she wore newborn stuff once or twice.  My breastfed baby put on weight quickly!

Although I'd still prefer shopping in the pink section, I'm getting used to the blue :)

  1. ugh, Amy you know this absolutely *kills* me to say it, but that's some cute boy stuff! haha ...I especially like the little newborn outfit with the green plaid hehe. The receiving blankets are super cute too :-)

I thought the same thing when I was pregnant with Brielle. We didn't have hardly any newborn stuff because I had always assumed I'd have giant babies, and then Raya *was* pretty big and only wore newborn size for about 2 weeks....so when Brielle came out 6lbs I had practically nothing to fit her. But one trip shopping while I was in the hospital and Grandma had her all set ;-) I'm sure if he comes out smaller you'll have no shortage of people willing to run and pick up some more newborn stuff!

  2. Haha, I figured you would like the green plaid :)

That's a good point. I'm not going to buy any other newborn things and if he comes out tiny, the Grandma's can go shopping for me :) I think I just need to get a couple 0-3 things maybe.

  3. Amy, those outfits are actually all super cute!!!! It makes me so excited for you!!

That green plaid shirt is so cute! I also love all the stuff with the cute little pictures on the butt. :)

This makes me realize we have really no way of preparing, but that is how we chose to do it, so I guess we'll be okay.

    1. Thanks Bri! He has a lot of cute sleepers, that's for sure! I love the butt patches too :)

You know it's not too late to find out what you're having...just teasing, I think it's great you are waiting. I know you guys are kind of hoping for a girl, but I'm hoping it's a boy so we can share stories and help each other with all things boy related :)

    2. Haha! Yes, I know, it's not too late. :)

It would be fun if we had a boy, so you and I could chat about it. They will be SO close in age, especially if I go earlier, like they say could very well happen with this placenta previa.

  4. Yay! Boy stuff can be fun too! I love that little dino receiving blanket. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with his nursery.
