In need of a SEAMSTRESS

Tyler laughed at me because I said "In need of a SEWER".  You know, someone who sews.  Well, apparently that's not a word.  They are called seamstresses.  My bad!  No, I am not in need of a sewer, the things that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live in.

Ok, so since my last boring post, I've been sitting here shopping online.  Mainly shopping around for ideas for the baby's room.  I am loving a turquoise/lime green/brown theme.

Anyway, I don't want to buy a whole bedding set since we don't use the fluffy bumper pads anyway.  We never have.  Kyla uses a breathable bumper pad and that's what we plan on using for the new baby.  So I think I just want to get a decorative crib skirt to match a window valance and then I will just get plain fitted sheets for the crib.  I found these patterns on Etsy that I love and are basically the colors I'm thinking.

I like letter i with the circles.  I would like that pattern (or something similar) for the skirt and valance and then have a plain blue or green fitted sheet (probably one of each to have a backup).

The problem?  This lady is charging $99 for a crib skirt and $49 for a window valance.  Not. Gonna. Happen.  So this is where I need all of your help :)

Does anyone know someone that could sew a crib skirt and valance?  I'm willing to pay for it, but not $150 for the two.  That's insane!  Let me know if you or someone you know might be able to do this.  I really appreciate it :)  I want to get the bedding stuff before I figure out what color I want to paint.

  1. Amy, I don't know anyone, but I just wanted to say I LOVE pattern "i"! (Also, I had to laugh at your title, because I can see how you thought it was saying sew-er - haha!)

  2. Well, I don't know about a crib skirt....that's probably out of my league haha...but I can do a valance! Won't be super fancy, but if you just want a basic valance it's not a problem :-) I also just made Harper throw pillows for her room using left over fabric from her curtains-if you need any pillows lol.

Oh, and yes, sorry about rubbing the matching shirts in your face hehe. *But* Children's Place had a tshirt that said something like "I wanted a puppy, not a brother" lol...I think Kyla's needs something like that :-P

  3. If its like a dust ruffle, I think can do the crib skirt. I was planning on making Little Mr Kattre something anyway. Now I know what you like :)
