20 things to do with Kyla before the baby comes

I've been thinking about this for awhile and I saw another blogger post a list of things she wanted to do with her daughter before she turns two so I thought it would be a good idea for me to get this down in writing.  It's a good reminder and makes me accountable to make sure we actually do these things!  Now we just need it to warm up!

1.  Go to the zoo
2.   Go on lots of walks to the park
3.   Go swimming this summer
4.   Go to the children’s museum
5.   Go to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago
6.   Paint with homemade finger paints
7.  Have an Easter egg hunt
8.   Go on a picnic
9.    Have lots of play dates with her cousins
10.   Bake treats together
11.   Draw with sidewalk chalk
12.   Plant flowers together
13.   Take some family pictures
14.   Go to a parade
15.   Watch fireworks
16.   Go play at the Bennett farm
17.  Start going to the library once a week
18.   Go to Uncle Trevor's baseball games
19.  Make some crafts/pictures for Daddy's office
20.  Play in the backyard

I can't wait for Kyla to be a big sister, but I am going to enjoy every moment we have with her as an only child.  She will always be my baby.  I love her more and more every single day!

She absolutely loves when I read her books!

I love shoes!

And my kitchen!

Check out this hair!
We are going to have so much fun this Spring and Summer!

I love weekends!

I just love Tyler being home with us and doing things as a family.  I didn't have any Thirty-One parties this weekend so we are taking it easy.  It's nice!  We went shopping today and bought Daddy some new work shirts and a pair of jeans.  It was definitely his turn to be spoiled :)

Kyla loves having Daddy home all day too.  I've never seen her laugh more than she did today.  She's such a happy little girl.  We are pretty darn lucky, that's for sure!

I haven't felt the best since we got home.  I made a nice dinner, but the chicken made my stomach really upset.  And I'm in a ton of pain!  When I was pregnant with Kyla, I had to do physical therapy because I got to a point where I could barely walk I was in so much pain.  It was just my body getting ready for child birth and everything moving and expanding.  Basically it felt like every time I took a step my bones were rubbing together in the groin area.  Well, it's started again!  Already?  Ugh!

Not much else to share tonight.  I'll leave you with a picture of Kyla loving bath time with Daddy!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

13 weeks

As you can tell, this maternity shirt is big, but I wanted to try to take the pictures in the same shirt each week so I needed one that I will fit me at 9 months!

As far as weight gain, I'm saying none.  But I lost 6 pounds with the flu and now have basically gained that back, but when I measure how much I've gained, I am going to figure it based on my current weight.

I'm not in maternity clothes yet (except for this picture).  Kyla and I don't get out much lately so I pretty much live in sweat pants.  When I do wear jeans, I can definitely tell they are getting tight.

Sleep?  Oh, I love sleep!  But I'm not sleeping well at all.  I have to get up to go to the bathroom at least 5 times a night.  And my crazy dreams wake me up a lot.  Luckily I can get rest when Kyla naps.

And here is a picture of me pregnant with Kyla since I wasn't blogging then.  I can't remember how far along I was though.  Maybe around 32 weeks?

Boring random updates

1.  I've been feeling a lot better lately, but still really tired!  I am still getting nauseous, but as long as I keep feeding myself, I'm good.  I haven't thrown up in about two weeks so hopefully that is over.  I take advantage of nap time to rest and I'm usually in bed early.

2.  Tomorrow I will be 13 weeks.  I am going to start my weekly belly pictures.  I'm also going to post a picture of me pregnant with Kyla just for fun since I wasn't blogging then.

3.  We have our 20 week ultrasound and gender reveal on April 9th.  I'm counting down the days!

4.  Kyla woke up at 5:30 this morning, drank some milk, and then went right back to sleep and didn't get up until 11:00.  She must be going through a growth spurt!  She then took a nap from 3-5.

5.  She's talks nonstop, but isn't really saying words.  She loves when I read/sing her ABC book to her and now if I pause after a few letters, she tries to imitate me and sing too.  It's so funny.

6.  I am REALLY looking forward to this spring and summer (other than the fact that I'll be huge).  I cannot wait for Easter so Kyla can run around at Grandma's with Emma and Gianna for the egg hunt.  I'm just so excited for Kyla to be able to actually do things this summer!

7.  The crazy dreams have started.  Wow!  Last night I was on Dancing With The Stars and they took my partner (Tony) away because we were scoring too high and they gave me two new dancers.  Yes, two!  I had to do half the dance with one and half with the other.  I got really bad scores, but America saved me.  Thanks, America!  Stupid judges :)

8.  We are still discussing baby names.  We are pretty solid on a boy's name and iffy about a girl's name.  We like the girl's name, just not 100%.  And no, we aren't sharing :)  But we're waiting to find out what we're having and then we will get more serious about the names.

9.  My mom came up and babysit Saturday night so Tyler and I could go out to eat with our good friends from college.  It was SO nice!  They picked Buffalo Wild Wings, which made me really happy!  I have been craving it!  I had 8 boneless wings and probably could have eaten 8 more.  At least.  But anyway, it was so awesome to go out with them.  They live about two hours away so we don't see them often.  We're hoping to go down to Chicago with them sometime this summer and take the kids to the Shedd Aquarium.

10.  Time for The Bachelor even though I can't stand this season!

And now you know why I haven't been blogging.  Besides being exhausted, our lives are pretty boring :)

I'll be back tomorrow with some belly pictures :)

My three sweet Valentines

Yes, three.  Tyler, Kyla and baby :-)  We had our 12 week ultrasound today!  The baby was really moving!

The picture wasn't great and I had to take a picture of the picture, but I had to share all 3 of my loves today!

My other loves...

Look at that belly!  Looking like Mommy's nowadays :)

Singing our ABC's

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Much to Daddy's dismay, lifting up her skirt :)

Helping Mom open her card

Throwing the garbage away...or trying to play in the garbage?

Thanks for the cute outfit Grandma!

Along with a card and chocolate ice cream (all a pregnant lady needs for Valentine's Day), Tyler hung up my new Thirty-One home organizer.  I'm so sick of our mail, bills and unclipped coupons sitting on the counter.  So now they can be stashed in the closet in a somewhat organized fashion!  :)

I thought I would share this cute video I took tonight.  Kyla just adores her Daddy and they have so much fun together!  Tonight Daddy was pretending Kyla passed him the basketball and he shot it and "swished" it!

And although they look like Cheetos, she's eating Gerber Graduate Lil' Crunchies.  Funny story about Cheetos though...they are one of my pregnancy cravings so we had a bag in our lazy susan.  Well, Daddy was home with Kyla and he didn't realize she had got them out.  He found her sitting on the kitchen floor, Cheetos bag open, about 10 Cheetos on the floor, munching away on them and orange all over her face and clothes.  I told him he should have snapped a picture!

Hope everyone had a "lovely" day!

My feisty 13 month old!

We got her a little doodle pad and she just learned how to pick up the pen and write with it!  She wouldn't let me get a good picture.  Her head kept getting in the way.

Finished product

I remembered tonight during bath time that I had the monthly stickers starting at 13 months so I pulled it out quick before bed.  I didn't get many pictures throughout the day because neither one of us felt great.  Kyla refused to take any naps and was just not herself at all.  Then tonight she threw up twice and I realized she must have a touch of my flu.  She was playful tonight and went to bed ok so I'm hoping she'll sleep through the night.

Her newest thing as a 13 month old is scolding me.  If she's doing something she shouldn't do and I say "No, Kyla!" she yells something in gibberish back to me.  She literally raises her voice at me.  Amazing.  Feisty little thing.

She also started running away from me if she has something she shouldn't.  Today she got a toothbrush out of a drawer when I was going to the bathroom and I saw her starting to put it in her mouth.  It wasn't her toothbrush by the way.  I started to go after her and she turned and started running as fast as she could.

She has been saying "ffffff" a lot and Tyler and her were playing with the football downstairs the other night and he said "football" and she said it back.  Ok, not perfectly, but it really sounded like football.  Ever since she's been trying to talk with words and everything is starting with "fffff".

Our little miss independent doesn't like to be fed so meals are still a huge mess.  Some things you just need to use a spoon or fork though and she's not using them quite yet so we have to feed her.  She hates it.  Soon maybe she'll learn how to use the utensils so we don't have that struggle anymore!

Oh, what else?  She's just starting to grow up so much.  Putting puzzle pieces back where they belong, drawing, bringing Tyler and I books and actually wanting to sit on our lap and read them.  She loves to point to stuff and have us tell her what it is.  She loves books lately!  As you can see in the pictures, she loves to carry all her toys and bring them to us.  And if we say "go get the bus" (or whatever) she will bring it to us.  She's very good at playing fetch :-)

Every day it seems like she's doing something new.  Something to make me smile.  And make me just want to squeeze her and kiss her.  She's the best little girl ever.  I love her so much!
