My Daily 5

Happy November!

I'm sorry this post is coming so late.  I vowed not to get on the computer today.  I play with Kyla while she's up, but while she's napping (still twice a day), I sit on the computer and do random stuff.  Today, I decided that unless absolutely necessary, I will only go on the computer at night after I put Kyla to bed.  I am officially making office hours for my Thirty-One business and will just keep "notes" throughout the day to blog about at night.

This whole no computer during the day thing came because I realized I don't get much accomplished around the house.  And because I'm a freak about making lists and crossing things off, I am starting "My Daily 5" tomorrow.  On our white board on the fridge I am going to write five things that I want to accomplish throughout the day.  It's not going to be all big things because I want it to be obtainable.  It will be a combination of things like sweep the floor, go to the post office, read Kyla at least two books, etc.  If I put things on the list that I already do, I will feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.  Yes, I'm a dork.

I won't go on and on tonight about DWTS.  You all know how I feel about Nancy.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I woke up and realized that our pumpkins didn't get smashed.  Two years ago, we had a huge mess the morning after Halloween.  Last year I remembered to bring them inside.  But last night I forgot and thought for sure we'd have three orange piles of mush in the driveway.  Thank you, teenagers!

I officially started planning Kyla's birthday.  And by planning I mean thinking about how I should really start figuring some stuff out.  It's a start :)

Have I told you guys how much Kyla LOVES her Daddy?  She is still a Momma's girl, but she absolutely adores Daddy.  Their newest thing is he will be across the room and run at her to "get her".  She now crawls as fast as she can in the other direction, laughing.  Nobody can make her laugh like he does.  She just loves playing with him.  It's the cutest thing ever.  I have to get the video camera out tomorrow night!

Every day in November, I, along with some of my blogger friends, am going to end each blog post with one thing that I am thankful for.  Today I am starting with my amazing little baby who has made my life so much more meaningful.  I am so incredibly thankful and blessed to have such a happy, healthy little girl.

What are you thankful for?

  2. I wish I could say I was going to do the "internet only at night" thing too, because I really *should* get more done around the house during the day, but I think my withdrawal would be too painful!!! lol

Mum Mums are amazing. You get them next to the puffs in the store. They are these long oval rice cake looking things...babies love them and they dissolve really quickly in their mouths like puffs....but they aren't messy and I don't end up with puffs all over my floor :-P
