Cutest pumpkin in the patch

I will let the pictures do the talking...

She had fun visiting Daddy at work!  She "helped" him send out a few emails!  Then tonight she sat by the door and watched me hand out candy to the kids.  As you can see, she wanted some candy of her own!  I caught her red handed with a bag of M&M's and a Kit Kat.

As boring as I thought Kyla's costume was going to be, I absolutely loved it.  It was perfect for her.  She's my little pumpkin!  She kept it on while we handed out candy and all the kids loved her.  A couple adorable little girls said "I like your baby."

I also gave the mom's a little bag with a treat that said "Be a Smartie, Host a Thirty-One Party!" with a Smarties candy taped on it.  Most of the mom's didn't come to the door so I would ask the kids if their mom was with them.  They'd say yes so I said "Here's a treat for your mom."  The best part was them excitedly yelling back to their mom..."Mom, you get a treat too!"  It was hilarious.

We had a great day!  Next year we'll take Kyla out trick-or-treating a little bit.  Hope you all had a spooktacular Halloween!

To Grandma's house we go...

Where did the weekend go?  It's always nice to travel and see family, but it's also nice to get home and sleep in our own beds!  I miss the days when Kyla would sleep in the pack and play and not know any better.

She had fun with Grandma though and her new toys!

Daddy's so much fun!

We also got to visit Great Grandma Alice and Great Grandpa Gib.  Let me just tell you, they are two of the most amazing people I've ever met.  Grandpa is 92 and Grandma is 89, they've been married 65ish years and still going strong!  And I swear they act like they're kids.  Grandpa is a story teller and was telling Kyla stories today from when he was 7 years old!  And Grandma just cracks me up.  She's a jokester.  From the very first time I met them (about 8 years ago now), we always went over there for breakfast.  Grandma would make us eggs and Grandpa would always go to the store and get me a fresh cinnamon roll.  Sure enough, we show up today and there was my roll!  I love them so much!  I think seeing Kyla today made their day and seeing them play with her made mine :)

She wasn't sure about Grandma's singing reindeer though.

And of course we can't come home from Grandma's without a new wardrobe :)

 PJ's included

This is actually the first year I've been excited about Halloween.  I've never really been one to dress up.  And I'm not dressing up this year either, but I'm just so excited to dress Kyla up (even if it's a boring pumpkin).  She will be the cutest damn pumpkin out there!  It's fun to start family traditions.  Holidays are more special with her.  Actually, life is just so much better with her!

Quick ponytail post...

I have to make this quick.  It's almost midnight already and I still need to fold two loads of laundry before I go to bed.  We're leaving to go to Tyler's mom's in the morning and will be home Sunday.  So I will leave you with some pictures of my little cutie patootie.  I tried to get all her hair up in one ponytail tonight :)

They aren't great pictures, but you get the idea.  I can't believe how much hair she has!

Have a great weekend everyone!  We'll be back Sunday and my little pumpkin will be ready for her first Halloween!

Seriously?! Thursday

I'm linking up with Becky tonight for Seriously?! Thursday.  I don't have a lot going on tonight, but a few things made me say Seriously?! today.

1.  Seriously, what happened to good customer service?  I won't get into the whole ordeal, but let's just say I'm not too happy with American TV today.  They were the ones to come "fix" our washer a month ago and come again today to fix a "different issue".  I was told I wouldn't have to pay another $50 trip charge, but guess what?  The guy wouldn't leave my house unless I paid him.  After arguing with him for a good five minutes, I just wanted the scumbag him out of my house.  So I called where they told me I wouldn't have to pay it.  And they said well, we aren't the technicians so it's up to them whether you pay it or not if it's a different issue.  Oops, I forgot I wasn't going to get into the whole ordeal, sorry!  Anyway, the "technician" was an A-hole and the guy on the phone was a D-bag.  And now we are $50 poorer because I lost the battle.  The funniest part was the technician said he could change the numbers around a little bit so I asked him what exactly that meant.  He said he could take away the trip charge and increase the labor.  Really?  Gee, thanks!  Does that trick REALLY work on other women or whoever else you like to screw over?  Wow.

2.  I know the Bachelor isn't going to air until January, but I seriously want to go one (just one) season without reading the spoilers.  Can someone come over to my house and block Reality Steve's website for me?  I really want to try watching it without knowing what's going to happen.  But the temptation is just too much for me every season.  And then I immediately regret reading it.  Anyone else read the spoilers?

3.  I had a Thirty-One open house tonight and had a great time.  Thanks to everyone who came!  My main reason for signing up to sell it was just to have "me" time and girls nights.  It was great to just sit around and chit chat.  And of course share my love for all the products!

Sorry for the short post, but now, I must get my pj's on, curl up on the couch AND...

That's right, catch up on my celebrity gossip!  My mom saves them for me because she's awesome like that.

What made you say Seriously?! today?  There's gotta be something...

My favorite recipe and a whole lot more...

We eat a lot of chicken in this house and tonight I made my favorite recipe.  Not only is it delicious, but it's REALLY easy.  Right up my alley!  I got the recipe from this awesome cookbook that my Aunt Linda gave Tyler and I...

Church cookbooks are the best!

Anyway, here's the simple, yet delicious recipe.  All you need is:

Chicken breasts, Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup, 1 cup of milk and a box of chicken stuffing (The actual recipe calls for 1 cup of sour cream as well.  I usually add the sour cream, but didn't have any tonight and didn't want to pack Kyla up to run and get some so we went without.  Tyler said he liked it better.)

1.  Cook the chicken at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in just a little bit of water
2.  Place chicken in 9x13 glass pan, salt and pepper as desired
3.  Heat soup, milk (and sour cream if you use it) in a bowl and mix together
4.  Cover chicken with soup mixture
5.  Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees
6.  Make chicken stuffing as directed on box
7.  Put stuffing over rest of ingredients
8.  Cover and bake for another 5 minutes.

It. is. delicious.  I saw a similar recipe on another blog that added swiss cheese on the chicken before the dressing.  We also enjoyed some of the corn my mom froze awhile ago.  It was a perfect family dinner.  Kyla ate some corn too.  I wasn't sure she'd eat it, but just as I was walking away to clean up, she picked some up and shoved it in her mouth!

I used $30 of my Amazon gift cards today.  If you missed my post about how to get free Amazon gift cards, check it out here.  I will post about what I got later.  Hopefully it will all be here next week.  I didn't go the diapers/wipes route.  I didn't go the Christmas gift route.  And I didn't splurge on myself.  I bought a few things for Tot School with Kyla :)  I know she's too young for most of the activities I want to do, but as soon as I get that toy room done, we are going to start Tiny Tot School.  Much more about all that later!

When I went to Target yesterday, I ended up buying all of our Halloween candy.  It never fails, every year we wait until the last possible moment to buy candy.  And then there's absolutely nothing good left so we end up getting crap.  I'm sure we are "that house with the crappy candy" every year.  Not this year kiddos!  The bad part of not waiting until the last moment?  Eating the damn stuff before Halloween!

Kyla is getting so brave and wanting to stand all the time!  Now when she's standing and then falls on her butt, she grunts.  The kind of grunt where she must just be thinking "Ugh, come on!"  It's so funny!

I went a little overboard with the picture taking today.  She's just so darn cute, I can't help it!  I promise I do comb the girls hair.  And you'll see that I attempted pigtails today and you'll also see why I don't attempt it often.

I was going to do a Wordless Wednesday post with all the pictures of her just hanging out with something dangling out of her mouth.  She reminds me of a little puppy.  She'll just crawl around the house with a toy or puzzle piece hanging out of her mouth.  Anyway, enough talk, onto the pictures...and I'm warning you, there are a lot!

And by the way, the puzzle pieces have now been taken away.  Until the eating everything stage is over.

Haha, she LOVES Jeopardy and the timing on this was just too perfect...

Apparently she's getting back at me for telling you all that she won't still for a picture :)

She managed to scratch herself pretty good today...

And...it's naptime

Much happier after a nap...and no pigtails!

She gives fives now!

Her Godmother gave her this book.  We read it, but in three different sittings.  It's a pretty long book, and Kyla's attention span isn't so long.  Thanks for the cute clothes too, Kirsten!  As soon as our washer is fixed and I can wash them, I will get some pictures :)

We had a great day today.  Headache free and all!  Yes!  I'm having a Thirty-One open house tomorrow night so hopefully we can go two days in a row.  Thanks for sticking with me throughout my grumpiness yesterday :)
