8 months old

Dear Kyla,

You are 8 months old today!  You are happy, sweet, easy-going, but yet a little feisty at times.  You are growing more curious by the day.  You like to get a hold of everything that you shouldn't have.  You aren't crawling yet, but you're still managing to move all around the living room.  We had to take the coffee table to the basement because you kept rolling into it.  You can get up on all four's, but you're still scooting backwards. You're very giggly, especially when Daddy tickles you.  Your favorite book is "The Monster At the End of This Book."  Even though you're sweet and happy, you do have a little temper on you.  Must get that from Daddy ;)

Since the day you were born, you were very easily startled.  Any sudden noise makes you jump.  And you hate chip bags, toilets flushing, the garbage trucks driving by, and many other random noises.  You love to poop right when we get to Target, but absolutely freak out when I change you in the bathroom.  I have even taken you out to the truck to change you to avoid the screaming and staring.

As of this morning, you can get from your belly back up to the sitting position.  I was so surprised to come into your room and see you sitting up like a big girl in your crib.  We moved your mattress down just in time!  You also moved to the sitting position while we were playing this morning.  Crawling must be coming next!

Good morning sunshine!

You now have six teeth!  You got four teeth on the top all at once.  Those were a rough few days!  Daddy and I love seeing that adorable little smile with those teeth showing, but of course you wouldn't let Mom get a good picture of them.

You are still sleeping great!  You sleep about 12 hours at night and I hope that always continues!  Once in awhile you'll wake up because you're stuck on your belly or stuck in the corner of your crib and can't find your nuk.  After I turn you around and give you your nuk, and you fall right back asleep.  I think I need to keep a spare nuk in your room so I don't have to search for it in the dark.  You're still taking two naps a day and the length of those vary each day.

You're still eating about five 6 oz. bottles of formula a day and you're starting to eat more solid foods every day.  Your favorites are green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas and apples.  You hate carrots, peas and mixed vegetables.  You'll eat pretty much any fruit.  We've been starting to give you a couple Gerber Graduates snacks once in awhile.  You aren't eating them really yet, but getting some good practice picking them up with your fingers.  You love to eat when Daddy and I eat.

You are mostly wearing 12 month clothing and some 18 month stuff.  You're still wearing size 4 diapers.  I'm not sure what size shoes because I don't put them on you very often.  Or ever.

What you were up to this month:

Still love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Went on your first vacation to Hayward
While on vacation, you pulled your cousin Emma's placemat and plate of spaghetti onto the floor.
You started wanting your nuk a lot more.
You learned to clap.
You started to really squirm while we try to change your clothes or diaper.

Thank you for being such an awesome baby!  Daddy and I love you so much and can't wait to continue to watch you grow up and learn new things.

Love,  Mommy

I apologize for the picture overload, but I just can't help myself.  And it's my blog and well, deal with it!  :)

Yes, folks, that is a Packers shirt!  He does root for the Packers when they aren't playing the Bears, but I never thought he'd sport a bright yellow shirt.  Maybe he's trying to teach Kyla right :)

Bed head

The only show she watches all day is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  That Mickey is a funny guy...

Go Brewers!

Really Mom, a headband?

So cute!  She loves to brush her teeth!

I had Mickey Mouse on dvr so I put it back on so she'd let me put pigtails in.  Whatever it takes to look cute, right?

Doing push ups on her music toy.

I got this idea from Joeylee at Sweet N Sassy Girls and thought it was adorable.

Kyla enjoyed hanging outside for awhile taking in the fresh air.

She loves her new walker!

We're working on waving bye bye.  It kinda looks like she was waving, but I think she was just hitting the steering wheel.

Seriously Mom?  Enough already!

Have a great weekend everyone!
